USS Barnstable County (LST 1197)

USS BARNSTABLE COUNTY was the 19th ship in the NEWPORT - class of Tank Landing Ships and was homeported at the Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek, Va.

After decommissioning, BARNSTABLE COUNTY was leased to the Spanish Navy where she was commissioned as HERNÁN CORTÉZ (L 41) on August 26, 1994.
